Finding high level resource grids using grid filters

High Level resource grids can be tough to find, especially if your corporation concentrates their headquarters to one system.

There’s an easy way to find high level grids (or any level for that matter) by using filters on the map.

From the main interface, pinch to zoom out. You’ll notice the further you go all of the resource grids will disappear – you want to have it zoomed out right on the threshold before they disappear.

At the bottom of the interface is a filter option, which allows you to filter by grid types and levels.

Filtering for high level grids makes it much easier to spot them.

Once you’ve found one, don’t forget to send a recon fleet to see their optimal setup. The recon report will tell you their fleet formation (the formation sparkles purple) and the counter (Recommended Formation).

I ran into the problem where I don’t have a counter for any of the high level grids, but that’s not the end of the world. As long as their formation doesn’t counter your own, you should be fine. Unless your fleet power is vastly higher, you probably want to send a couple of fleets.

Fleet Formation

  • Assault counters Encirclement, but is countered by Intercept
  • Encirclement counters Phalanx, but is countered by Assault,
  • Phalanx counters Intercept, but is countered by Encirclement,
  • Intercept counters Assault, but is countered by Phalanx, and
  • Siege is countered by all other Formations.

Deploy your fleets to the adjacent grids, and start the capture on your first fleet. If it fails, immediately start the capture with your backup fleet. The defenders have a three minute timer before they heal, so your second fleet will be going up against much weaker enemies.
