Content in EVE Galaxy Conquest is delivered on a seasonal basis.
Data and servers will reset at the start of the next season, with only certain items in your collection being retained. This information is easy to miss, but is very important to understand how the data inheritance works so you may make informed decisions about spending time or money on the game.
As per the in-game announcements:
Seasons are fundamental gameplay element of EVE Galaxy Conquest and generally last for over 1 month. A season always has a primary objective, such as conquering territories, structures or resources.
At the end of the season, you will be rewarded based on your performance and ranking in the season.
[When the new season starts.] The old servers will be merged into a new server, where Chief Commanders from different servers will start the new contest towards the season goal.Upon start of the new season, some ofyour progress in game will be reset.
Character
You will keep your Character Name, Portrait, Inventory, Quantum Kredits, Nova Kredits, Login Rewards and Friends. If there are duplicate names when entering the new season, the Character who joined the server last is required to change their name.
You do not keep your Bio, Authority, Max Grids, Influence, Resources, Action Points, ISK, or Faction.
The start of the new season allows you to pick a different Faction to fight for.
Commanders
You will keep your recruited Commanders and their Promotion level.
Commanders do not keep their EXP Level, Fleet, Attributes, Stamina, Talents* and Talent Levels, and the Commander Reset Cooldown will reset.
Ships
You will keep your Ships and their Promotion level, as well as their active Modules and Module Mutaplasmid.
The Module level and Ship Reset Cooldown will reset.
Corporation
Corporations reset entirely and need to be reformed upon the start of the new season. That means the Corporation level, captured Citadels, Tech, Contributions and Military Exploits will reset.
*It is unclear wether or not Talents unlocked with purchased files and blueprints will need to be unlocked again. The wording in the announcement does not make it clear, and I am yet to find a definitive answer. I am strongly opposed to being required to unlock them again, unless the used data is refunded as if you have run a reset on the ship or commander, as many of the files and blueprints used to unlock them would come from loot box purchases.
As the game is still in the “pre-official-release” phase, the data inheritance rules may change. This gives us plenty of time to learn the game to get as much of a head start into the next season as we possibly can, such as knowing different ways of generating resources in the early game.
